Silva implores Brazil’s Richarlison to ‘keep working’

Everton manager Marco Silva has told winger Richarlison he still has plenty of work to do following his first call-up to the Brazil squad.
The 21-year-old has received his first selection for his national team for friendlies against the United States and El Salvador next month.
It is a reward for an impressive start for his new club, for whom he has scored three goals in his opening two matches.
However, Silva insists there are plenty of improvements to be made, including in his on-field behaviour as he was shown the red card for a headbutt in last weekend’s draw at Bournemouth.
“Of course it is an important moment for him. To get a call-up to the Brazil national team is not easy as they have big quality,” said the Toffees boss.
“It is a moment for him to keep working.
“Last week was not really good for us and for him and it is something he has to learn from and will for sure learn fast.
“He has to do what he has to do where he is strong, which is playing football and nothing more.
“We are here to teach him in the right way and of course he has to learn as well.”
Richarlison, who serves the second match of a three-game suspension, will be one of eight absentees for the visit of Huddersfield.
Midfielders Idrissa Gana Gueye (knee), Andre Gomes (hamstring) and James McCarthy (leg), forward Bernard (muscle strain), defenders Michael Keane (head), Phil Jagielka (knee) and Yerry Mina (foot) are all injured.
Silva can welcome back Ademola Lookman, who missed Wednesday’s victory over Rotherham with a groin problem, but he looks like needing to use reinforcements from that Carabao Cup team – he made eight changes – for the Premier League.
However, he feels he has enough strength in depth.
“I did eight (changes) and if I could in that moment I would have done more,” he added.
“It is important for us to see different players, to rest some of them. I saw the same profile, the same behaviour as a team, and the same idea was there.
“The players who played the last game answered well to me. It is important they showed what I wanted in that moment.”
