There have been suggestions on Friday evening that a deal to bring Naby Keita to Liverpool has been sealed with a move to be completed in next 48 hours.
The RB Leipzig midfielder was set to join Liverpool at the end of the season in a deal worth around £57million.
Though, with the player itching for a move to Anfield and Liverpool’s desire to bring him in early, a deal was then a possibility.
Though, the Germans made it clear that they would not want to sell the player in the middle of the season.
Now in the Europa League, the club are still fighting on several fronts and want to try and secure Champions League football for next season.
That would no doubt be easier to achieve with Naby Keita in the side and that was a concern among the Bundesliga side.
Reports this week suggested that an extra £17million on top of the current fee they were paying could seal a deal early.
Though, if reports from Bundesliga and This is Anfield writer Chris Williams are to be true, a breakthrough has already been made.
Not only that, the claim also points out that Keita will be a Liverpool player on this coming Sunday, under 48 hours away.
That would be very big news for the club who would no doubt see him into the first team as soon as possible.
