Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Naby Keita after the new Liverpool signing shone on his Premier League debut.
Keita moved to Anfield in July after a deal had been agreed last summer, and he played all 90 minutes as his new club beat West Ham 4-0.
After the game, Klopp told the media: “A good performance, of course. Naby is in because he is a really good footballer and from the beginning he has settled really quick.
“Similar style of play, similar positions as he had at Leipzig. I’m pleased, absolutely, but that’s what we expect.”
Keita completed an impressive 88% of his passes in the game, also creating one chance.
His teammate Sadio Mane was also impressed by his display, telling liverpoolfc.com: “I’m happy for him. He played very, very well. Everybody was happy about the job he did for us.
“The beginning is not easy for new players, to learn about the guys. He will do better and better for us because he has great quality.”
