Juventus star avoids Champions League ban for gesture to Barcelona fans

Silly
Juventus star Gonzalo Higuain has avoided a few game ban in the Champions League after showing the middle finger to the Barcelona fans.
The Argentine was left frustrated on Tuesday evening after his side were heavily beaten by Barcelona 3-0.
The forward did not have a successful game himself and was actually substituted during the game to several whistles from the Barcelona fans.
This prompted the player to give them the middle finger as he was about to sit down on the bench, something which may cost him.
It was reported in Italy that the player could actually be banned for a couple of games after the gesture which would have been a huge blow.
Higuain was pivotal in Juventus’ Champions League run last year and losing him for the group stages could be massive.
All this because he decided he wanted to flick the finger at the Camp Nou faithful after losing his head.
Now, UEFA have reportedly dismissed any further action by confirming that no disciplinary proceedings have been opened with regard to that match.
The former Real Madrid striker will certainly have to count himself lucky that there were no repercussions after the silly gesture.

Messi ends Buffon jinx
One incredible stat that has rumbled on for a number of seasons is that Leo Messi has never scored against Gianluigi Buffon.
That was even after several tries including last season but the Argentine made sure to put that to bed last night.
Not only did Messi score once against the legendary goalkeeper, he went on to score a second in the 3-0 thrashing.
The comprehensive win did wonders to the confidence around the Camp Nou after a couple of weeks of worry and negativity.
