Emery open to Arsenal transfers; confirms new deal

Arsenal coach Unai Emery has not ruled out signing more players but says it “isn’t very important now”.
Emery has brought in Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi this summer, with Leno, Sokratis and Guendouzi featuring in Thursday night’s 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid.
Asked whether he wanted to add to his squad, he said: “I believe in these players.
“Now I am vey happy with the players. On Monday other players come with us after the World Cup.
“If there is a possibility to sign a player, it isn’t very important now, but while the window is open, we can.”
He did confirm that Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi is likely to sign a new contract at the club, saying: “I have the information, he is near. Mesut, Elneny and Iwobi are working with us – my first impression is very good.
“My information is he will sign to stay with us.”
